Skill University Opens iFactory Lab to Train Youth in Industry 4.0

Skill University has inaugurated an advanced Industry 4.0 laboratory, titled iFactory Lab, at the Kubernagar Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Ahmedabad.

Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, the lab is designed to provide hands-on training in emerging technologies, including robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, and cyber-physical systems. The lab will serve both industry professionals and students from technical and educational institutions. It aims to automate industrial processes from order placement to product delivery, thereby creating a workforce aligned with the evolving demands of the global manufacturing sector.

According to an official statement, this initiative is not limited to training alone but is part of a broader strategy to build a globally competitive industrial ecosystem in Gujarat. By introducing students and workers to high-tech environments, the lab seeks to bridge the skill gap and foster innovation across sectors.

The project also reinforces India’s ambitions under its Make in India and Skill India missions, supporting economic growth through employment generation and technological adoption at the grassroots level.
