BRS working president KT Rama Rao has asked Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to issue a white paper on the alleged transfer of 8,000 acres of land parcels in Rajanna Sircilla district, seeking public disclosure of survey numbers, locations and the names of people allegedly involved.
KTR also sought detailed records on the approximately 2,400 acres that Revanth Reddy has said were recovered. The details requested include the location and survey numbers of the parcels, their previous ownership and their present status.
The BRS leader asked the Telangana government to explain who allegedly occupied or received the 8,000 acres, when the transfers took place and under which proceedings they were carried out. He also sought information on the officials involved in identifying and recovering the alleged government land.
The demands place land records and administrative action at the centre of an escalating dispute over public land in Sircilla. According to the report, KTR said repeated statements about the alleged transfers, without supporting records being placed in the public domain, were creating confusion among farmers and landowners in the district.
KTR called for records relating to the alleged land transfers and the recovery operation to be made public. He also asked the government to disclose what action had been taken against those responsible if irregularities had been established.
The BRS working president said his party was prepared to face action according to law if the government produced evidence of wrongdoing by its leaders. At the same time, he urged the government not to penalise farmers or genuine landowners on the basis of unsubstantiated allegations.
The requested white paper would be expected to set out the survey numbers, ownership history, locations and current status of the disputed parcels, along with details of the officials and proceedings involved in identifying and recovering the land.
