A Congress fact-finding team visited former MLA Panjugula ‘Pilot’ Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse in Aziznagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday, escalating the ruling party’s demand for an inquiry into land conversions, construction and activities allegedly linked to properties owned or associated with prominent Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders.
The delegation, led by Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, included Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs. The visit followed inspections of the farmhouse of former minister T. Harish Rao and another property linked to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, according to the report.
Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse had been built on land where Government Order 111 applied. The order was issued to protect the Himayatsagar and Osmansagar reservoirs and the surrounding area. The Congress MP questioned who had authorised the conversion of land titles and the construction of farmhouses in what he described as a protected eco-fragile zone.
The allegation places the focus on the regulatory status of land on Hyderabad’s outskirts, where changes in land use and construction permissions can have implications for reservoir protection and the city’s wider environmental safeguards. The Congress team also referred to a late-night raid conducted by the Telangana Police’s Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement, or EAGLE, at the farmhouse on March 14, 2026.
