Ranchi airport’s winter flight schedule will add a weekly Bhubaneswar service, an additional Hyderabad flight and a one-day trial connection to Navi Mumbai, giving passengers more listed travel options from Birsa Munda Airport through March 27, 2027.
The winter timetable is scheduled to come largely into effect on Sunday, with aircraft movements at the airport expected to rise from 23 a day during the summer schedule to 28 during winter. Airport director Vinod Kumar said both arriving and departing flights would increase once the revised schedule begins.
The Bhubaneswar service will operate every Wednesday from October 28. It is scheduled to arrive in Ranchi at 2.35pm and depart at 3.20pm, creating an afternoon air connection between Jharkhand and Odisha. The schedule does not specify the airline in the supplied report.
Hyderabad will receive an additional service from November 21. IndiGo flight 6E 6952 is scheduled to arrive in Ranchi at 1.45pm, while return flight 6E 6949 is scheduled to leave at 2.15pm. The service is listed until March 26, 2027.
The timetable also includes an IndiGo trial flight between Navi Mumbai and Ranchi on October 25. Flight 6E 2653 is scheduled to arrive at 10am and depart for Navi Mumbai at 10.35am. Kumar said the airline had described the service as a trial, leaving its continuation beyond the listed date dependent on the airline’s decision and subsequent scheduling.
Ranchi will retain listed connections to Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Patna and Pune. Delhi remains the busiest listed sector, with multiple flights spread across the day and the first arrival scheduled for 7.15am. Kolkata has three listed services, while Bengaluru and Hyderabad have flights at different times.
The schedule is also divided into seasonal periods for some routes. Mumbai services are listed in one period from October 25 to November 30 and another from December 1 to January 31. A Bengaluru service is listed from February 1 to March 27, 2027.
For passengers, the revised timetable could improve choice of departure and arrival times, particularly on routes with multiple listed services. It also extends the airport’s direct connectivity to another eastern regional centre and provides a test of demand for a Navi Mumbai link. The schedule alone, however, does not establish how many of the listed services are newly introduced compared with the previous timetable.
An Airports Authority of India official said the revised timetable offered wider timing choices but cautioned that it did not by itself confirm the net increase in daily flights or establish that every listed service represented a new route. The winter schedule is due to remain operational until March 27, 2027, subject to the listed seasonal dates and airline operations.
