Pune Metro Line 3 Cuts Last-Train Hours for Diwali on November 8

Pune Metro Line 3 will operate with earlier last-train departures on November 8, 2026, as Maha Metro adjusts services during the Diwali period, requiring passengers on the Shivajinagar–Hinjawadi corridor to complete evening journeys earlier than usual.

The first train will depart at 6 am as usual. The final train from Maan will leave at 7.40 pm, while the last service from District Court will depart at 8.40 pm, according to information reported by Pune Mirror. The revised timings will apply to Line 3 services on Sunday.

The adjustment affects passengers travelling between Shivajinagar and Hinjawadi, including commuters using the corridor for access to the Hinjawadi IT Park. Maha Metro has advised passengers to account for the changed schedule before beginning their journeys, particularly those planning to travel later in the evening.

Interchange connectivity with Pune Metro Lines 1 and 2 will continue to be available for passengers using Line 3. However, journeys involving more than one corridor will remain subject to the revised operating hours. Commuters changing between lines will therefore need to ensure that their connecting service is available within the updated schedule.

The revised Line 3 timetable has been introduced in coordination with changes to the operating hours of Lines 1 and 2 during the Diwali period. The report did not specify the regular last-train timings against which the November 8 departures have been changed, but described the final services in both directions as considerably earlier than on a regular day.

The schedule change comes only days after passenger services began on the long-awaited Shivajinagar–Hinjawadi Metro corridor on November 4. The route is intended to provide a public transport alternative for people travelling between central Pune and the Hinjawadi employment district, where road congestion has been a longstanding concern.

The corridor has also attracted interest from employees, including women working in the IT hub, who regularly travel to and from Hinjawadi. For passengers who depend on cabs or private vehicles, the Metro provides another transport option, although the earlier final departures on November 8 may limit its usefulness for late-evening travel.

Passengers travelling on Line 3 on November 8 should check the revised operating hours before setting out and plan any interchange with Lines 1 and 2 around the earlier final services. The changes are scheduled for that Sunday as part of the Diwali-period operating adjustments.
