Pune Metro Capacity Expansion Targets Future Demand
Pune’s urban transit system is preparing for a significant rise in passenger demand, with metro authorities evaluating larger train configurations and expanded operational infrastructure as new corridors move closer to completion. The planned upgrades reflect the city’s broader transition towards mass public transport as a response to mounting road congestion, rising travel demand and the need for more sustainable urban mobility.
