Such initiatives indicate that demand exists, provided infrastructure supports safe and convenient everyday use. The neighbouring Pimpri-Chinchwad region has also advanced dedicated cycling corridors, highlighting how metropolitan areas are experimenting with alternative mobility models. Yet recent assessments suggest that infrastructure quality and maintenance remain inconsistent across the wider urban region. As Pune continues to expand, transport experts believe future infrastructure investments must prioritise seamless Cycling Connectivity rather than isolated projects.
