The PMRDA officials are set to send final arbitration report of the Maan-
Mhalunge town planning scheme to the state government for its final approval.
A Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) official said
around 510 plots and 5,800 beneficiaries had been finalised for the town planning
scheme. A beneficiary would get 50 percent land back at the same site.
Five town planning schemes are awaiting clearance from the state government.
The state has been following the Gujarat model of town planning schemes. The
Maan-Mhalunge town planning scheme will be the model of the rest of the
schemes. The five schemes will come up in Wadachiwadi, Autade Handewadi,
Manjari Kolwadi and Holkarwadi (two) and require 751.55 hectares of land.
The Centre was expected to fund INR 25 crore each for the five town planning
schemes as part of supporting infrastructure projects. The PMRDA had allocated
INR 175 crore for these schemes from its budget.
