Patna Accelerates Prakash Parv Preparations Ahead of January 2027 Event

Patna divisional commissioner Rajesh Kumar has directed departments to speed up preparations for the 360th Prakash Parv, scheduled for the first fortnight of January 2027, with inspections, infrastructure planning and security arrangements to begin immediately.

Kumar issued the direction during a review meeting with officials from various departments. He asked them to inspect the main venue and surrounding areas and prepare detailed action plans for the arrangements required during the event.

The commissioner stressed that departments must start work without delay and complete preparations within the stipulated timeline. He also called for effective coordination among the agencies involved, indicating that the event’s arrangements will require simultaneous work across civic amenities, utilities and public safety.

Officials were directed to ensure adequate drinking water, toilets, electricity and other basic amenities at the venue. These facilities will be central to managing the requirements of visitors and participants during the celebrations, which are expected to be conducted on a grand scale.

The directive places basic services alongside security planning in the administration’s initial preparations. Kumar instructed officials to identify suitable locations near the event site for a temporary police station and a control room. The proposed facilities are intended to support security operations and help maintain law and order during the celebrations.

The preparations will therefore involve both the event venue and nearby areas. Officials have been asked to assess these locations before finalising their action plans, with the inspection process expected to determine the arrangements required across the site and its surroundings.

The commissioner’s instructions also establish an administrative timeline several months before the event. Departments are expected to work from their action plans and coordinate implementation so that water supply, sanitation, electricity and security facilities are ready by the time the Prakash Parv begins.

The meeting did not specify the exact venue, the departments assigned to individual works, the estimated cost of the preparations or the number of visitors expected. It also did not announce deadlines for the inspection reports or identify the locations proposed for the temporary police station and control room. These details are expected to emerge as departments prepare their plans and advance the arrangements.

For Patna’s administration, the immediate task is to convert the commissioner’s directions into coordinated departmental action. The next steps are inspections of the main venue and nearby areas, followed by detailed plans covering amenities, electricity, sanitation, drinking water and security facilities ahead of the first fortnight of January 2027.
