Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), a leading player in the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) sector, has recently announced the awarding of a significant Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and project management consultancy (PMC) contract.
The contract has been granted to a consortium comprising Nauvata Energy Transition Enterprise and PERC Engineering, marking a pivotal development in ONGC’s strategic venture. The scope of the contract encompasses a wide range of services, including pre-FEED, FEED, and PMC activities, focusing on two developmental projects situated in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin, located along India’s eastern coast. Nauvata, a key player in energy transition initiatives, revealed that the contract involves comprehensive concept studies and the preparation of tender bid packages, underscoring the consortium’s expertise in project management and engineering solutions.
This significant contract award follows ONGC’s recent milestone achievement of attaining its first oil production from the KG-DWN-98/2 development project. Notably, Nauvata, in collaboration with its consortium partner, played a pivotal role as project management consultants for various scopes of work associated with the KG-DWN-98/2 project, including subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF), subsea production systems (SPS), floating production storage and offloading (FPSO), and onshore operations.
The successful execution of the KG-DWN-98/2 project underscores the capabilities and expertise of Nauvata and PERC Engineering in delivering complex and high-value projects within the oil and gas sector. With ONGC’s continued focus on advancing its exploration and production activities in the KG basin, the consortium’s role in providing crucial FEED and PMC services for upcoming developments signifies a strategic partnership aimed at driving operational excellence and maximising project efficiency. As ONGC continues to pursue its ambitious growth agenda in the KG basin and beyond, collaborations with established industry players like Nauvata and PERC Engineering are poised to play a pivotal role in realising the company’s vision of sustainable energy development and enhancing India’s energy security.
