North Delhi Truck Crashes Kill Three, Leave Two Critically Injured

Three people were killed and two others were critically injured in two separate truck-related road crashes in north Delhi, with the incidents reported in Khajuri Khas and near Mukundpur flyover, police said. FIRs have been registered in both cases, while police are pursuing the drivers and examining evidence from the crash sites.

In the first crash, two men riding a scooty died after colliding with a concrete-mixer truck in Khajuri Khas late Monday night. Police said the truck driver fled after the collision. Passers-by attempted to stop the driver, but he switched off the vehicle and escaped from the spot.

The victims were identified as Santosh, 30, and Pawan, 33. Both worked at a wholesale grocery store in Sonia Vihar and lived in Khajuri Colony. Originally from Bihar, they were returning home after closing the shop. The store had remained open late because it was scheduled to stay closed the following day, police said.

Police received a call about the Khajuri Khas crash at 11.55pm. When officers arrived, Santosh had already been taken to JPC Hospital by family members, while Pawan was shifted there by police. Doctors declared both men dead. Their bodies were later sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Forensic teams inspected the Khajuri Khas crash site, and police seized the concrete-mixer truck. Investigators said the driver had been identified and that efforts were under way to arrest him. The FIR in the case will form the basis of the investigation into the collision and the driver’s alleged flight from the scene.

The second crash took place near Mukundpur flyover, where a dumper truck allegedly hit a motorcycle carrying three men. Akash, 19, died in the crash, while Rohit, 24, and Piyush, 26, suffered serious injuries. Police said only one helmet was found at the site.

The three men worked for a quick-commerce platform and were returning from their office in Ghaziabad when the crash occurred. A crime team visited the location and collected evidence. Akash’s body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination.

Police are examining CCTV footage and verifying suspected vehicles to identify the dumper truck involved in the Mukundpur crash. The investigation is expected to establish the vehicle’s identity and the circumstances leading to the collision. FIRs have been registered in both incidents.
