Noida Job Scam: Woman Held for Duping 250+ Airport Aspirants

Noida cybercrime police have arrested a woman accused of duping more than 250 job seekers by promising them airport employment and collecting over Rs 25 lakh through a fake recruitment operation.

The accused has been identified as Beauty Borborah, also known as Nisha, a resident of Assam. Police said she was living in Logix Blossom Society in Sector 143, Noida, where she was arrested. A laptop and mobile phone were recovered from her possession.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly created a company called Sign Education and operated a social media page under the name Placement India. People looking for airport jobs contacted the page through a phone number listed online. The alleged recruitment network offered positions including helper and electrician, according to the report.

After candidates made contact, they were promised employment and sent appointment letters to build confidence. They were then told that registration and online training were compulsory. The applicants were allegedly asked to deposit between Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 for these steps.

Police said the accused stopped communicating with candidates after receiving the payments. The investigation has also uncovered digital evidence connected with the alleged fraud, according to the cybercrime station in-charge cited in the report.

The reported amount collected from victims has crossed Rs 25 lakh, while the number of people allegedly targeted has exceeded 250. The figures indicate that the operation relied on repeated low-value payments from a large number of applicants rather than a single high-value transaction.

The case highlights how online recruitment pages and digital communication can be used to create the appearance of a formal hiring process. Appointment letters, named job roles and references to mandatory registration or training were reportedly used to persuade candidates to transfer money before joining.

The alleged operation was based in a residential society in Noida, while its targets were job seekers looking for airport employment. The report does not specify the airport or airports associated with the promises, the duration of the alleged operation, or whether all identified victims have filed complaints.

Police have taken possession of the electronic devices and said the digital evidence is being examined as part of the investigation. The next steps will include tracing the communications and payment records linked to the alleged recruitment pages and identifying additional applicants, based on the evidence recovered by investigators.
