Noida Banquet Hall Fire Traps 10, All Rescued Safely

A Noida banquet hall fire at Shaurya Banquet Hall in Sector 73 trapped 10 people on Tuesday evening, but fire personnel rescued everyone safely and brought the blaze under control after nearly two hours. Fire teams from Noida and Ghaziabad were deployed as flames spread from the false ceiling through a large part of the venue.

The fire was reported at around 4 pm after witnesses noticed smoke inside the banquet hall. The smoke was followed by visible flames, making it difficult for people inside to leave. Ten people became trapped in the building as the fire intensified, prompting an emergency response from the fire department, police and traffic police.

Around 10 fire vehicles reached the location after the alert was received. Additional teams and equipment were called from nearby fire stations because of the intensity of the blaze. Fire engines from Ghaziabad were also sent to the site to support the operation.

Fire personnel prioritised the rescue of the people trapped inside the hall. All 10 were brought out safely before firefighters intensified efforts to contain the fire. The blaze was fully controlled after approximately two hours of firefighting, according to the report.

As a precaution, nearby buildings were evacuated while the operation was under way. One fire team continued spraying water on adjoining buildings to prevent the flames from spreading upwards. The presence of a crowd around the site also affected traffic for an extended period. Traffic police cleared the route for fire vehicles, while civil police, traffic police and fire officials coordinated the rescue and firefighting work.

Pradeep Chaubey, chief fire officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar, said the department had received information about the fire and people trapped inside the banquet hall. The preliminary investigation indicated that a short circuit could have caused the blaze, but the actual cause will be established only after the investigation is completed.

The fire department and police will also examine whether the banquet hall had adequate firefighting equipment and whether those systems were functional. Investigators are expected to review the availability of emergency exits and compliance with applicable safety standards. The findings will determine whether the venue had sufficient arrangements for evacuation and fire response.

The incident places renewed attention on the safety systems required in banquet halls and other assembly buildings, where dense occupancy, false ceilings and limited evacuation time can complicate emergency response. For now, officials have confirmed the safe rescue of all 10 people and the containment of the fire. The next step is the completion of the safety and cause investigation at the venue.
