Noida Airport Flight Disruption Leaves Passengers Trapped in Heat

A technical problem on an IndiGo flight at Noida International Airport left passengers facing heat and poor ventilation after the aircraft’s air-conditioning stopped working on the runway, according to a report by Live Hindustan – NCR. Passengers alleged that they remained inside the aircraft for nearly four hours before being allowed to leave.

The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 7628 operating on the DXN–LKO route. The scheduled 3:05 pm flight was reportedly delayed by about an hour before being cancelled because of a technical problem. A replacement flight was arranged for 5 pm, but passengers said that aircraft developed problems after reaching the runway.

According to the report, the replacement aircraft came to a sudden stop after passengers felt strong jolts while it was on the runway. A power-related fault was reportedly suspected, after which the aircraft’s air-conditioning system stopped functioning. With ventilation affected, passengers began experiencing heat and suffocation inside the cabin.

Some passengers were reported to have fallen unwell during the disruption. Several passengers came out of the aircraft after protesting, and the plane was subsequently moved aside, according to the report. The passengers alleged that they had been kept in uncomfortable conditions inside the aircraft for around four hours.

The incident also raised concerns about the way passengers were managed during the delay. Passengers alleged that no senior official arrived at the spot to hear their complaints while the aircraft remained without functioning air-conditioning. The report did not include an official statement from IndiGo or Noida International Airport on the technical fault, the duration of the delay, or the passenger-handling arrangements.

Technical disruptions at airports can involve multiple operational agencies, including the airline, airport operator, ground-handling teams and air traffic control. In this case, the available report identifies the aircraft problem and the resulting loss of air-conditioning, but does not establish the precise cause of the fault or whether any formal passenger assistance protocol was activated.

The reported sequence began with the cancellation of the original flight and continued with the failure of the replacement aircraft on the runway. The passengers’ allegations about the length of time spent inside the aircraft and the health impact of the heat remain attributed claims in the supplied report. Further details would be required to establish the airline’s technical assessment and the airport’s response.

The next official steps are expected to include an explanation from IndiGo and the airport operator on the aircraft fault, the cancellation, passenger assistance and the handling of the replacement flight.
