New Eco-Park in Sumy Showcases Rare Flora

A new eco-park featuring nearly 50 species of exotic plants. The project, led by the founder of LLC “AF ‘Kozatska'”, was a collaborative effort involving the local community

agricultural company employees, the headman’s office, educational and cultural institutions, and a social services center.Spanning approximately one hectare, the eco-park showcases a diverse array of ornamental plants, including three types of cherry blossoms, tulip trees, magnolias, roses, thuja, boxwood, Pisardi plum, Niwaki pine, Canadian tsercis, liquidambar, barberries, catalpa, Canadian spruce, Umbraculifera cherry, red maple, and Yongi birch. This botanical diversity aims to enrich the region’s flora and provide a serene environment for visitors.

The project’s design is envisioned as a three-year plan, with future developments including the creation of children’s playgrounds, picnic areas, hammock zones, and beautifully landscaped flower sections. These additions are intended to transform the eco-park into a multifunctional recreational space for families and tourists alike.Local authorities have expressed their belief that the eco-park will not only enhance the region’s aesthetic appeal but also contribute to environmental education and community well-being. The initiative reflects a growing commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of green spaces in urban areas.As the project progresses, it is expected to become a model for similar initiatives across Ukraine, demonstrating the positive impact of community-driven environmental projects.
