Namma Metro services in Bengaluru will run beyond their usual operating hours for Saturday’s T20 cricket match, allowing spectators to travel into the early hours of the following day. The last trains from terminal stations will leave as late as 1.15am, while the final train from RV Road will depart at 1.30am, according to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).
The extended schedule is intended to support spectators leaving the match after regular metro operations would normally have ended. Services from terminal stations, which generally stop at 11pm, will continue later on the night of the match.
The last trains from Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Bommasandra will depart at midnight. Trains from Challaghatta, Silk Institute and Madavara will leave at 12.15am. From Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, the last train towards all four directions is scheduled to depart at 1am.
The final departure from RV Road has been scheduled for 1.30am, making it the latest listed service in the special operating plan. The different departure times mean passengers will need to account for the last train from the station and direction they intend to use after the match.
BMRCL has also said that a Namma Metro QR code for two-way travel will be embedded in digital match tickets. The arrangement is intended to allow spectators with eligible e-tickets to use the metro for their onward and return journeys.
The corporation has advised spectators to use stations based on the entry and exit gates designated on their match tickets. Passengers using the stadium gates on Cubbon Road have been advised to travel through Cubbon Park station. Those using gates on Link Road should use Mahatma Gandhi Road station.
The station guidance is relevant to crowd movement after the match because it directs passengers towards the metro stops closest to their designated stadium access points. Spectators may therefore need to check their gate details before leaving the venue and plan their route around the special last-train timings.
The extended service covers the main metro terminal points listed by BMRCL and the Majestic interchange. The final scheduled departures range from midnight to 1.30am, depending on the station. Passengers travelling late will need to reach platforms before the last departure for their route, as the special timetable does not indicate that trains will operate beyond the listed timings.
The service extension is for the T20 match on Saturday, with operations continuing into the following day. BMRCL’s advice on QR-coded digital tickets, stadium gates and designated metro stations forms part of the travel arrangement for spectators attending the event.
