Nagpur’s Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Sindi, near Wardha, has officially commenced commercial operations, marking a significant milestone in India’s logistics infrastructure development.
This project, developed under the PM Gati Shakti initiative and the guidance of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, aims to promote fast, seamless, and efficient transportation with a special focus on improving last-mile connectivity.​ Developed by the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a 100% subsidiary of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the MMLP Nagpur is being implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The project is being developed in three phases over 150 acres, with a total investment estimated at ₹673 crore, of which ₹137 crore is allocated for the first phase. A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Maharashtra MMLP Pvt. Ltd., has been established for this project—a joint venture between NHLML and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). This SPV is responsible for providing land, road and rail connectivity, as well as water and power supply.​
The MMLP will house warehousing, cold storage, intermodal transfer facilities, container handling, bulk and break-bulk cargo terminals, and value-added services such as sorting/grading, bonded warehouses, and customs clearance. Additional facilities include truck terminals and office space for freight companies. This initiative is expected to strengthen India’s logistics infrastructure, reduce costs and transit times, improve tracking systems, generate employment, and foster regional economic development.​ Strategically located, the MMLP is approximately 3 km from the Nagpur–Mumbai Maha-Samruddhi Expressway and the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai rail line. The site is 48 km from Nagpur International Airport and 56 km from Nagpur railway station, providing excellent connectivity for efficient transportation and logistics operations.​
The commencement of operations at the MMLP Nagpur is a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing India’s logistics capabilities and promoting sustainable urban development. By improving infrastructure and connectivity, the project aims to reduce logistics costs, enhance efficiency, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.​
