The proposed Worli maritime hub will utilise temporary jetty infrastructure originally constructed to support material movement during the Mumbai Coastal Road project. With major phases of coastal construction nearing completion, officials are now evaluating how the structures can be adapted for long-term public use. According to technical assessments commissioned through an engineering review by an academic institution, one of the temporary jetties near the Worli waterfront may be structurally suitable for conversion into a passenger and emergency transport facility after required modifications. Another jetty examined during the review was reportedly found unsuitable for regular commuter operations.
