The Indian Railways is set to introduce the Vande Bharat Sleeper train, connecting Mumbai and Nagpur.
This semi-high-speed superfast train service aims to reduce travel time and enhance passenger comfort between these two major cities.Currently, the journey from Nagpur to Mumbai takes approximately 16 hours by mail trains, while superfast trains complete the trip in 12 to 13 hours. The introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper is expected to revolutionize travel by reducing the journey time to just 10 hours .The proposal for this service has been submitted by the Central Railway’s Nagpur division to the Railway Board and is currently under review.
Vinayak Garg, the newly appointed Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Nagpur, confirmed this development, highlighting Nagpur’s critical role in the national railway network. “Nagpur is a key junction with over 125 trains operating daily. The Vande Bharat Sleeper train service will further enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers,” he stated .The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are designed to address the growing demand for faster and more comfortable travel options. Passenger traffic on the Nagpur-Mumbai route has surged in recent years, often exceeding the capacity of existing trains. This has forced many travelers to rely on road transport, which is less efficient and comfortable. The Vande Bharat Sleeper trains promise to provide a superior alternative with reduced travel time, enhanced safety features, and greater efficiency.
