Mumbai job fairs will be held at 20 venues across the city on September 29, giving unemployed young people an opportunity to apply directly for vacancies across banking, retail, information technology, manufacturing and services, according to an official statement reported by Mid-Day.
The employment drive is being organised by the District Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Mumbai City, under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Assistant Commissioner Sunil Pawar has appealed to job seekers to register in advance and attend the fairs to explore available opportunities.
The initiative is intended to connect candidates with established private companies while helping employers identify applicants whose skills match their requirements. Companies and organisations from multiple sectors have been invited to participate and submit details of their vacancies. Employers can register their openings through the official online form and select suitable candidates directly.
The fairs are open to candidates with a wide range of educational and technical qualifications. Applicants who have completed Class 10 or Class 12, graduates and postgraduates, as well as candidates holding ITI certificates, diplomas and other professional skills, can participate. Candidates have been advised to complete their preregistration online before attending the September 29 events.
The venues are spread across several parts of central and south Mumbai, including Churchgate, Fort, Matunga, Dadar, Sion, Wadala and Byculla. Major locations include SNDT Women’s University in Churchgate, Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University in Fort, the MVIRDC World Trade Centre at Cuffe Parade and the Institute of Forensic Science in the Fort-Churchgate area.
Other venues include St Xavier’s Technical Institute in Mahim, Mumbai Technical Engineering School in Dadar, M H Saboo Siddik Polytechnic in Byculla and the Institute of Hotel Management near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Colleges participating in the drive include Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Shrimati Maniben M P Shah Women’s College and D G Ruparel College in Matunga.
Guru Nanak College of Arts, Science and Commerce will host a fair in Sion, while SIWS N R Swamy College and Shrimati Thirumala College are among the venues in Wadala. Additional locations include Siddharth College of Commerce and Economics in Fort, Develarn Technology Pvt Ltd in Dadar, Jai Hind College and Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Churchgate, Bhavan’s H Somani College in Girgaum-Chowpatty and Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics in Mahalaxmi.
The district administration has also urged private companies, corporate organisations and other establishments in Mumbai to register their vacant positions and take part in the employment drive. The fairs are scheduled to be conducted on September 29, with candidates expected to complete preregistration before attending their selected venue.
