Maharashtra Investment Blueprint Crosses ₹2.6 Lakh Crore

The Adani Group has completed or begun executing projects worth ₹2.6 lakh crore in Maharashtra, representing more than 43% of its proposed investment blueprint exceeding ₹6 lakh crore for the state, Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises, said at the launch of Invest Maharashtra in Mumbai.

The blueprint spans energy, aviation and aero-districts, urban regeneration, data centres and coal gasification. Adani said the group had made its investment commitment at the World Economic Forum in Davos and through partnerships with the state government.

“At the World Economic Forum in Davos and through state partnerships, the Adani Group has committed to an investment blueprint exceeding six lakh crore rupees across critical and upcoming sectors,” Adani said. “Projects worth 2.6 lakh crore rupees are already completed or under execution,” he added.

The announcement comes as Maharashtra targets becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region expected to play a central role in that expansion. Adani described Maharashtra as a key driver of India’s economic growth and Mumbai as the financial centre supporting that growth.

He said the newly launched Invest Maharashtra initiative would create a mechanism to convert investor interest into projects. “With the launch of ‘Invest Maharashtra’, the state is establishing a robust mechanism to convert investor intent into relentless on-ground execution,” Adani said.

The group’s existing footprint in Maharashtra includes aviation, power and urban redevelopment. At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, the group is managing and upgrading the facility. It is also developing Navi Mumbai International Airport as a second aviation gateway for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Adani said Navi Mumbai International Airport is eventually designed to handle more than 90 million passengers annually. The group is also developing integrated airport business and hospitality districts around the two airports, linking the aviation investments to commercial and urban development around the metropolitan region’s major gateways.

In the power sector, Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd supplies more than three million homes and establishments, according to Adani. He said more than 60% of its power supply is sourced from renewable energy. The group is also developing a 1,000 MW high-voltage direct-current transmission link to bring power into Mumbai, along with pumped-storage hydro projects in Maharashtra intended to provide round-the-clock green power.

Urban redevelopment is another major component of the Maharashtra plans. Adani said the Dharavi Redevelopment Project is intended to provide modern housing before relocation, formalise and safeguard micro-enterprises and integrate the redevelopment with Mumbai’s wider urban infrastructure.

He described the Dharavi project as part of the group’s contribution to “Mumbai 3.0”, which he characterised as a more connected and balanced metropolitan region. The supplied announcement did not provide a completion date for the overall investment blueprint or individual timelines for the projects.

The state’s next step, according to Adani, is to use Invest Maharashtra to move commitments from the announcement stage to on-ground execution across the identified sectors.
