Lucknow to Launch Twin Infrastructure Projects

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has unveiled plans for two major infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the city’s urban landscape.

The first project involves the development of approximately 4,000 river view apartments on a 51-acre site behind the Police Headquarters on Shaheed Path. The second project is a hotel-commercial complex to be constructed at the 1090 crossing. Combined, these projects are valued at nearly ₹3,300 crore and are set to redefine both residential and commercial spaces in the city. The residential project, located in Maleshemau village, will offer a mix of 1BHK to 4BHK flats and penthouses, including units designated for economically weaker sections (EWS) and lower-income groups (LIG). All residential towers will provide views of the Gomti River and will feature amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, club, and yoga centre.

The housing will be developed in three clusters to encourage participation from multiple real estate companies. Simultaneously, the LDA plans to develop an ₹800 crore hotel, office space, and commercial complex on a 5.5-acre plot at the prime 1090 crossing. This building is intended to become an architectural landmark of Lucknow, boosting tourism, commercial activity, and employment in the city. The authority will act as a co-developer and lease the office and commercial space for 90 years, with provisions for extension as per policy. Both projects will be executed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The LDA plans to invite Request for Proposals (RFPs) from developers in June 2025, with the selected firms required to complete construction within three years of signing the agreement.

These developments are part of a broader initiative to enhance Lucknow’s infrastructure. The group housing site will benefit from planned infrastructure around it, including the Green Corridor, Shaheed Path-Green Corridor Clover Leaf, and a Master Plan Road connecting Sultanpur Road and Flower Valley. The LDA’s vision for these projects aligns with the city’s goals of creating sustainable, eco-friendly, and equitable urban spaces. By integrating modern amenities and ensuring accessibility for various income groups, these projects aim to set new standards for urban development in Lucknow.

As the city prepares for these transformative projects, residents and stakeholders alike anticipate a significant boost to Lucknow’s housing and commercial infrastructure, promising a more vibrant and inclusive urban environment.
