Kodangal Gets ₹9,000 Crore Infrastructure Push During Revanth Tour

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is scheduled to launch and inaugurate infrastructure and development projects worth more than ₹9,000 crore during a three-day visit to his Kodangal assembly constituency from November 7 to 9, according to a report by the Times of India.

The programme will cover roads, irrigation, education, public transport facilities, skill development and industrial infrastructure. Revanth is also scheduled to meet farmers, industrialists and women from self-help groups during the visit.

On November 7, the chief minister will inaugurate a farmers’ fair and an industrial expo at Hakimpet in Dudyala mandal. The programme will include interactions with farmers and agricultural scientists, along with discussions with industrialists. The events are intended to bring together agricultural stakeholders and businesses in a constituency where the announced projects span both rural connectivity and local economic infrastructure.

The main foundation-stone programme is scheduled for November 8. Projects to be taken up include Radial Road-2, which will connect Kothawalguda near the Outer Ring Road to Nacharam, and Phase II of the Mahbubnagar-Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation scheme. The government will also take up more than 200 new and pending bitumen roads, according to the report.

The road package is expected to address connectivity across the constituency and surrounding areas, although the report does not provide project-wise costs, construction timelines or completion dates. The announcement includes both new works and pending road projects, making implementation schedules a key detail for residents and local institutions to track after the foundation-stone ceremonies.

Other projects listed for the visit include Telangana Public Schools, an agricultural college in Kodangal, modern bus stands, a skill development centre and additional road connectivity works. The report does not specify the number or locations of the proposed schools and bus stands, or the capacity and operating arrangements planned for the skill development centre and agricultural college.

An ₹81-crore palm oil factory is also scheduled to be established in the Lagacherla industrial corridor. The facility is among the projects linking the constituency’s agricultural activity with proposed industrial infrastructure. Details about the implementing agency, land arrangements, employment capacity and commissioning schedule were not provided in the report.

The Mahbubnagar-Narayanpet-Kodangal lift irrigation scheme is one of the major water-related components of the programme. The report identifies Phase II as one of the projects for which foundation stones will be laid, but does not provide the scheme’s proposed command area, water allocation, financing structure or construction deadline.

On the final day of the visit, November 9, Revanth is scheduled to address a farmers’ meeting at Hakimpet. Around 50,000 farmers from 10 districts are expected to attend. The chief minister is also expected to stay in one of the Indiramma houses in Kodangal constituency on Deepavali day.

The three-day schedule will conclude with the farmers’ meeting and the launch and foundation-stone programmes listed for the constituency. Further details on individual project costs, tendering, execution agencies and delivery timelines were not included in the report.
