KEC International has secured new orders worth ₹1,303 crore across India, West Asia and the Americas, strengthening its transmission and distribution business and taking its year-to-date order intake above ₹7,600 crore.
The RPG Group company said on Monday that its transmission and distribution business had won projects covering India and international markets. The orders include 400 kV transmission lines in Northern India, 380 kV transmission lines in Saudi Arabia, and the supply of towers, hardware and poles in the Americas.
The company said its India transmission and distribution business had also secured an order from an existing private client for a transmission line project to evacuate power from a hydroelectric plant in Northern India. Power evacuation infrastructure is used to carry electricity generated at a plant into the wider transmission network.
In Saudi Arabia, KEC International said its international transmission and distribution business had won multiple orders for 380 kV transmission lines. The company did not disclose the value of the individual contracts, their execution timelines or the locations of the specific projects beyond the markets identified in its statement.
KEC’s cables and conductors business also secured orders in India and overseas markets as part of the ₹1,303 crore order intake. The company did not provide a market-wise breakup of these orders or specify the quantities covered by the cables, conductors, towers, hardware and poles contracts.
“Our India T&D business has secured a prestigious order from an existing private client for a transmission line project to evacuate power from a hydroelectric plant in Northern India,” Vimal Kejriwal, managing director and chief executive officer of KEC International, said in the company statement. “The International T&D business has further strengthened its presence in West Asia, with multiple order wins in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Kejriwal said the outlook for the company’s transmission and distribution business remained robust, citing the new orders, a large pipeline of opportunities and sustained demand across its key markets. He said the latest contracts would play a key role in driving the company’s targeted growth going forward.
KEC International is a global infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction company and the flagship company of the RPG Group. It has a presence in more than 110 countries, according to the company. The latest order announcement spans power transmission equipment and construction activity across three international regions, while adding to the company’s order intake for the current year.
The company did not announce project completion dates, contract execution milestones or changes to its financial guidance in the statement. Further details on implementation are expected through project disclosures and subsequent company filings.
