Kasara Railway Block Disrupts Long-Distance Trains, Five Diverted Via Pune

The Kasara railway block between October 14 and 16 has disrupted long-distance train operations, with Central Railway cancelling two Duronto Express services, diverting five trains via Pune and revising departure timings for several services from Mumbai.

The block affects trains operating through the Kasara section and has prompted changes to routes and schedules for passengers travelling between Mumbai and several destinations in northern, central and eastern India. Travellers have been advised to check the latest timings and route information through official railway channels before leaving for their stations.

Among the major services affected are the Howrah–Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and CSMT–Howrah Duronto Express trains. The CSMT–Howrah Duronto Express, which was originally scheduled to leave at 5.15 pm on October 15, will now depart at 12.20 am on October 16, according to the revised schedule.

Five trains will be diverted through the Kalyan–Karjat–Pune–Manmad route instead of their regular paths. The affected services are the CSMT–Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express, Dadar–Ballia Express, CSMT–Jabalpur Garib Rath Express, Dadar–Gorakhpur Express and CSMT–Nagpur Sevagram Express.

The CSMT–New Delhi Rajdhani Express will also depart later than usual on October 14 and 15. The Shirdi–CSMT Vande Bharat and Nanded–CSMT Tapovan Express services are expected to operate around 15 to 25 minutes behind schedule during the block period.

Several trains originating from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus have also been rescheduled. On October 14, the LTT–Gorakhpur Express will leave at 5.50 pm instead of 4.35 pm. The LTT–Sitapur Express is scheduled to depart at 5.35 pm, compared with its earlier timing of 4.25 pm, while the LTT–Dhanbad Express will leave at 6.05 pm rather than 4.55 pm.

Further changes have been planned for October 15. The LTT–Gorakhpur, LTT–Rani Kamalapati and LTT–Chhapra Express services are also scheduled to depart later than their regular timings.

The diversions through Pune place the city on an altered operating route for several long-distance services during the block. Passengers using Pune as part of their journey, as well as those boarding at Mumbai terminals, may therefore need to account for revised routes and departure times when planning travel.

Central Railway’s revised schedules apply during the October 14–16 block. Passengers have been asked to verify train timings, cancellations and route changes through official railway channels before starting their journeys.
