Karnataka Launches One Mobility App for Four Bus Corporations

A new One Karnataka Mobility app launched in Bengaluru on September 11 brings the state’s four road transport corporations onto a single digital platform for ticket bookings, complaints and transaction management. WhatsApp ticketing has also been introduced for KSRTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC services.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar launched the updated One Karnataka Mobility app and KSRTC Avatar 2.0 at an event held at Vidhana Soudha to mark 100 days of the new government. The initiative is intended to consolidate access to services operated by the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation.

The app includes a secure login system for passenger authentication. Users will be able to view previous bookings and manage their transactions through the platform. It will also allow passengers to file complaints related to any of the four transport corporations in one place, check the status of complaints and track the progress of their resolution.

The transport authorities said the platform will be expanded to include digital monthly passes. The proposed system will allow passengers to book, receive and manage bus passes online. QR code-based digital verification is also planned for a future phase, according to the information released at the launch.

Under the WhatsApp ticketing facility, passengers can begin the booking process by sending a message to 6364940880. The service currently covers KSRTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC bus tickets, while the announcement did not specify whether BMTC ticketing would be included through the same WhatsApp channel.

Passengers can pay through UPI, credit cards, debit cards and digital wallets. After a successful payment, the booking confirmation and electronic ticket will be sent through WhatsApp and email, according to KSRTC officials. Tickets booked through WhatsApp can also be cancelled on the same platform.

For cancellation, passengers must select the ticket cancellation option and enter their PNR number, mobile number and password. The announcement did not provide details on cancellation charges, refund timelines, service availability in different languages or the process for resolving failed digital payments.

The unified platform comes as Karnataka’s public transport system continues to operate through multiple state-run corporations with separate service networks and passenger interfaces. By bringing booking and complaint functions into one app, the new system creates a common digital access point for passengers using services across the state, while the planned monthly-pass and QR verification features remain to be implemented.

The immediate services announced are the updated mobile application, unified complaint registration and WhatsApp ticket booking for three of the four transport corporations. Further details on the rollout of digital passes and QR-based verification are expected as those features are introduced.
