Kamptee SPARSH Centre Brings Pension Services Closer to Defence Families

A new SPARSH Service Centre at the Pay and Accounts Office (Other Ranks), The Guards, in Kamptee will provide defence pensioners, defence civilian pensioners and family pensioners with in-person assistance for pension verification, records and grievances.

The centre was inaugurated on Tuesday by Alka Nangia Arora, Controller General of Defence Accounts in the Ministry of Defence. It will support pensioners with service requests and access to important pension-related records through the SPARSH system.

Among the services available at the facility is the submission of Annual Life Certificates, a mandatory process for continuing pension payments. Pensioners can also complete Pensioner Data Verification, or PDV, with assistance from staff at the centre.

The facility will additionally help pensioners update key profile details. These include Aadhaar and PAN information, postal addresses and bank account details. Such updates are important for maintaining accurate pension records and ensuring that communication and payment-related information remains current.

Pensioners will also be able to access their SPARSH Pension Payment Orders, or PPOs, along with corrigendum PPOs, pension slips, Form 16 and other pension-related documents at the Kamptee centre. The availability of these records locally may reduce the need for beneficiaries to manage documentation entirely through remote or digital channels.

SPARSH is the Ministry of Defence’s pension administration system, and the Kamptee centre is intended to provide assisted access to services for beneficiaries connected with the defence pension system. The facility’s stated functions cover both routine compliance requirements, such as life certificate submission and data verification, and administrative support, including grievance redressal and profile corrections.

The centre is located at the PAO (Other Ranks), The Guards, Kamptee. The location places the service within the cantonment and defence administrative network serving the Nagpur region. The announcement did not specify operating hours, appointment procedures, staffing levels or whether beneficiaries must carry particular documents when visiting the centre.

The inauguration was attended by Moloy C Chakrabortty, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Southern Command), Pune, and Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Pan, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, Nagpur. Senior Army officers from Kamptee and officials from the Controller of Defence Accounts and Integrated Financial Adviser were also present.

The centre’s immediate role will be to assist eligible pensioners with SPARSH-related requests and records at the Kamptee facility. Further operational details, including the process for accessing the services and the schedule for public visits, were not provided in the announcement.
