Kalol ROB Work Disrupts Ahmedabad–Palanpur Trains Through October 28

Ahmedabad-Palanpur train services will face cancellations and partial operation changes through October 28 as Western Railway undertakes girder launching work for a road overbridge near Kalol station. The railway block has been scheduled to support construction at level crossing number 232, with the work intended to improve passenger safety and road traffic movement.

The engineering work is being carried out on the Ahmedabad–Palanpur rail section under Western Railway’s Ahmedabad division. Railway administration has taken a special block for the construction activity, which will affect selected passenger, express, MEMU and DEMU services operating through the section.

The Valsad–Vadnagar–Valsad Express, train numbers 20959 and 20960, will be partially cancelled on October 27 between Gandhinagar Capital and Vadnagar. The service will operate only between Valsad and Gandhinagar Capital on that day, according to the schedule announced for the block.

Several local services have also been cancelled completely. Train number 69249, the Sabarmati–Katosan Road MEMU, and train number 69250, the Katosan Road–Sabarmati MEMU, will not operate on October 27. The cancellations affect services connecting stations on the suburban and regional rail network around Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

Train number 69207, running from Gandhinagar Capital to Vadetha, will be cancelled on October 27. Its corresponding service, train number 69208 from Vadetha to Gandhinagar Capital, will remain cancelled on October 27 and October 28. The changes mean that passengers using these services will need to check their train status before travelling during the construction block.

The Patan–Sabarmati–Patan DEMU, train numbers 79434 and 79435, will also remain cancelled on October 27. The disruption is linked to the planned girder launching operation at the level crossing, where the road overbridge is being constructed.

A road overbridge at the crossing is intended to separate road and rail movement, removing the need for vehicles to wait for trains at the level crossing once the project is completed. In the immediate term, however, the girder launching activity requires a controlled railway block and has led to changes in train operations across the affected section.

Passengers travelling between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadnagar, Katosan Road, Vadetha, Patan and Sabarmati should verify service availability before starting their journey. The notified cancellations and partial operation changes remain in force for the dates specified by railway administration, with the block extending through October 28.
