Jammu & Kashmir Welcomes Grew Energy’s 3.2 GW Solar Manufacturing Venture

Grew Energy has revealed its plan to build a massive 3.2 GW module manufacturing plant in Jammu & Kashmir. This project, which will require an investment of Rs 4,500 crore, is a crucial step towards harnessing the untapped solar potential of the region.

The sprawling facility, slated to be erected in Kathua over an expanse of 80 acres, underscores Grew Energy’s commitment to fostering indigenous solar manufacturing capabilities. Upon completion, the plant is poised to emerge as a formidable force in the production of high-efficiency modules, with an annual capacity of 3.2 GW, alongside 2.8 GW dedicated to ingots, wafers, and cells.

Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of Grew Energy, emphasised the transformative impact of the project on the socio-economic fabric of Jammu & Kashmir. By generating employment opportunities for local residents, the initiative not only bolsters the region’s industrial landscape but also contributes to its socio-economic development trajectory. This strategic move by Grew Energy underscores the company’s visionary approach toward addressing India’s burgeoning energy needs while fostering local economic empowerment. As Jammu & Kashmir emerges as a focal point for renewable energy investments, Grew Energy’s venture sets a precedent for sustainable industrial growth in the region, heralding a new era of clean energy innovation and development.
