Jaipur Elevated Road Gets Rs 251 Crore Boost in JDA Plan

The Jaipur Development Authority has approved development works worth more than Rs 575 crore, including Rs 250.85 crore for an elevated road between the Triveni Nagar railway overbridge on Gopalpura Bypass and an area near Gujjar Ki Thadi. The approvals were cleared at the authority’s 10th Project Works Committee meeting on Monday.

The elevated road received the largest allocation in the package through a revised proposal. The project corridor connects the Triveni Nagar ROB on Gopalpura Bypass to near Gujjar Ki Thadi, placing a major share of the approved investment in road infrastructure intended to address movement along a busy urban corridor.

Drainage works accounted for the next largest allocation. The JDA sanctioned Rs 176.22 crore for stormwater drains from the National Highway bypass on Kalwar Road to the Bandi river and along Niwai Road in Zone 12. A further Rs 58.36 crore was approved for drainage works in Benad Road, Murlipura, Jhotwara Industrial Area, Niwai Road and adjoining areas.

Together, the drainage approvals amount to Rs 234.58 crore. The works cover several parts of Jaipur, including industrial, residential and expanding peripheral areas. The committee’s decisions therefore combine mobility infrastructure with measures related to the movement of stormwater through the city.

The JDA also approved Rs 42.22 crore for a Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions centre in Vidyadhar Nagar. Other sanctioned works include Rs 26.32 crore for the holistic development of Shipra Path in Mansarovar and Rs 8.53 crore for a sector road linking CK Birla Hospital on Durgapura Road with Sanskrit University in Triveni Nagar.

The remaining approvals include Rs 6.37 crore for a food arena at Ram Niwas Bagh and Rs 6.33 crore for footpath development on major roads in Zone C2. These allocations bring the total value of the works listed in the committee’s approvals to more than Rs 575 crore.

The report did not specify construction schedules, tender timelines or completion dates for the elevated road, drainage projects and other works. The next implementation steps will depend on the JDA’s administrative and financial sanction process and subsequent project execution.
