Indian Railways Launches Rapid Vande Bharat Service Connecting Bhagalpur and Howrah in Record Time

Indian Railways has unveiled an exciting advancement in travel convenience with the launch of the rapid Vande Bharat train service connecting Bhagalpur and Howrah.

This announcement heralds a significant transformation in railway operations in Eastern India, promising passengers improved connectivity and reduced journey durations. The Vande Bharat train, set to cover a distance of approximately 439.57 kilometres, will make stops at key stations including Sahibganj, Barharwa, Azimganj, Katwa, and Naudibdham, enhancing accessibility along the route. Operating six days a week, this service ensures a smooth travel experience, exclusively utilising chair car coaches for passenger comfort during the day journey.

A standout feature of this new service is its impressive travel time of 7 hours and 30 minutes, considerably reducing the duration previously required to travel between Bhagalpur and Howrah. Departing Bhagalpur at 6:15 AM and arriving in Howrah at 2:25 PM, and vice versa, departing Howrah at 1:30 PM and reaching Bhagalpur at 9:55 PM, travellers can now enjoy expedited journeys between these prominent destinations. This initiative forms part of Indian Railways’ broader strategy to enhance connectivity and streamline travel experiences across the country. Leveraging resources and infrastructure enhancements from various railway sectors, including the Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Jamalpur-Kiul train section, this collaborative effort aims to optimise service delivery and passenger satisfaction.

Significant renovations are also underway at stations along the Malda rail division, a crucial section on the new route. These upgrades focus on enhancing station aesthetics and passenger facilities, aligning with Indian Railways’ commitment to providing a more enjoyable and efficient travel experience for passengers traversing Eastern India. The introduction of the Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat service represents a significant stride in enhancing rail connectivity and efficiency, emphasising Indian Railways’ dedication to modernising and revolutionising the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
