The newly constituted city chapter of an international trauma care organisation will focus on expanding trauma awareness, professional training and coordinated emergency response across the state. Medical professionals associated with the initiative say improving survival rates depends not only on hospital infrastructure but also on building a well-trained network of first responders capable of acting during the critical period immediately following an injury. According to public health experts, Telangana witnesses nearly 25,000 road accidents annually, resulting in around 8,000 fatalities. Nationally, road crashes remain one of the leading causes of preventable deaths, with young adults accounting for a significant proportion of victims. Specialists believe these figures underline the importance of strengthening the state’s trauma care system alongside investments in transport infrastructure and road safety.
