Hyderabad Special Trains Boost Festival Connectivity
HYDERABAD: South Central Railway has scheduled special train services between Cherlapalli and Kakinada Town ahead of Rakhi Pournami, adding temporary capacity on a route expected to see higher passenger demand. The services on August 27 and 28 will provide an additional travel option for passengers moving between Hyderabad and coastal Andhra during the festival period.
The outbound special, Train No. 07039, will leave Cherlapalli at 7:50 pm on August 27 and reach Kakinada Town at 9:30 am on August 28. The return service, Train No. 07040, is scheduled to depart Kakinada Town at 6:50 pm on August 28, reaching Cherlapalli at 7:30 am on August 29. The Hyderabad Kakinada special trains will serve several major stations along the route. These include Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Guntur, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Rajahmundry and Samarlakota. The additional services come at a time when festival travel can place significant pressure on regular rail capacity. Rakhi Pournami generates increased movement between cities, towns and family destinations, making temporary services an important tool for managing seasonal demand without requiring permanent changes to existing timetables.
The route also connects Hyderabad with several economically important centres across Andhra Pradesh.
