Hyderabad Road Repairs Target Potholes Across Key Areas
Cyberabad has stepped up road maintenance across several neighbourhoods, with repair teams addressing potholes and damaged road surfaces in multiple municipal circles. The works cover residential roads, junctions and key commuter corridors, highlighting the continuing pressure on Hyderabad’s expanding road network to maintain basic mobility and safety.
Repair activity was reported across Gajularamaram, Ameenpur, Serilingampally, Madhapur, Kompally, Tellapur, Kukatpally, Miyapur and Moosapet. Teams focused on damaged bituminous concrete surfaces, cement concrete sections and potholes. In Gajularamaram, repairs were taken up on Lalsabguda Road, along with damaged sections between Mettukani Guda and Rajeev Gandhi Nagar. Ameenpur teams addressed road defects in Bharti Nagar and the RC Puram wards. Further south and west, work continued on HCU Road in Serilingampally. In Madhapur, maintenance crews attended to damaged bituminous and cement concrete sections in Anjaiah Nagar and surrounding areas.
Several locations in Tellapur also received attention, including Alien Junction, Mayfair Junction and Radial Road 30. In Kompally, patchwork was undertaken in Central Park Colony. Kukatpally saw repair activity on Green Hills Main Road in Sevalal Nagar. A damaged cement concrete section near JNTU Free Left in Vasantha Nagar was also repaired. Other interventions were reported around Aditya Imperial Heights in Miyapur and Allapur Main Road in Moosapet. The geographic spread of the works points to a wider challenge for Hyderabad. Rapid construction and rising vehicle movement are placing greater demands on local roads. At the same time, repeated rainfall can accelerate surface deterioration, particularly where drainage is inadequate. For residents, potholes are more than a road maintenance issue. Damaged surfaces can increase accident risks for two-wheelers and create difficulties for pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users. They can also slow traffic and increase vehicle operating costs.
The immediate repair programme can improve road conditions at specific locations, but long-term resilience will require more than patching damaged sections. Urban planners and infrastructure experts increasingly stress the importance of proper drainage, road construction standards and preventive maintenance. This is particularly relevant as Cyberabad continues to absorb new housing, commercial development and employment activity. Roads need to support this growth without allowing maintenance gaps to become recurring mobility problems. Regular inspections can help identify weak stretches before potholes become severe. Better coordination between road, drainage and utility works can also reduce repeated digging and reconstruction. The current repairs provide short-term relief for affected communities. The larger test will be whether Cyberabad can move towards a preventive maintenance model that keeps roads safer, more durable and better suited to the demands of a rapidly urbanising region.
