Recent rainfall across upstream catchments has substantially increased storage levels in reservoirs linked to Hyderabad’s water supply network. The improved inflows have reversed earlier concerns that available reserves could come under pressure before the end of 2026, offering greater operational flexibility for the city’s water utility. The Hyderabad water security network currently relies on multiple reservoirs, including sources connected to the Godavari and Krishna river basins, along with local storage systems.
