Hyderabad Police lifted traffic restrictions near the Telangana Talli statue after managing vehicle movement linked to the Ganesh idol immersion procession, bringing relief to motorists around Abids, Tank Bund and NTR Marg.
The restrictions had been imposed as a long queue of vehicles carrying Ganesh idols moved towards the immersion points. Police said the arrangements were required to manage traffic and security during the large-scale procession in the city.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said organising security for the immersion was a major challenge for the department. He said planning for the event had been carried out over the previous three months and had produced positive results.
The commissioner thanked residents and participants for assisting the police during the procession. According to the report, the immersion was conducted peacefully, after which police personnel marked the conclusion of the operation by dancing to folk songs. Sajjanar also joined the personnel.
The Task Force police lifted Sajjanar on their shoulders while personnel danced to a song from the film “The Paradise”. The scenes followed the lifting of restrictions near the Telangana Talli statue after the main traffic-management operation had been completed.
The traffic curbs had affected routes connecting Abids with Tank Bund and NTR Marg, areas used by vehicles transporting Ganesh idols during the procession. The police response involved managing the movement of a large number of vehicles while maintaining security arrangements across the route.
Sajjanar’s comments indicate that the traffic and security plan was prepared well ahead of the immersion. He described the scale of the arrangements as a significant operational challenge for the police department and credited public cooperation with helping the procession proceed peacefully.
With the restrictions lifted near Telangana Talli statue, the police operation related to the reported traffic controls has moved into its concluding phase. The commissioner’s remarks and the police celebration followed the completion of the immersion arrangements.
