India’s residential property market maintained its growth trajectory during the April–June quarter of 2026, with Hyderabad emerging as one of the country’s strongest-performing cities. Supported by a sharp increase in new project launches and sustained buyer demand, the city recorded robust growth in both housing sales and fresh supply, reinforcing its position as a key urban real estate destination.
Industry data indicates that housing sales across India’s nine largest cities crossed 1.12 lakh units during the quarter, reflecting resilient homebuyer confidence despite global geopolitical uncertainties. While several metropolitan regions registered healthy demand, southern cities continued to lead market expansion, with Hyderabad standing out alongside Bengaluru. The Hyderabad housing market recorded sales of more than 14,000 residential units during the quarter, marking a strong year-on-year increase. At the same time, developers significantly accelerated new launches, pushing fresh housing supply above 18,000 units. This expansion positioned Hyderabad among the country’s largest residential supply markets, second only to Bengaluru during the period. Urban development experts say the city’s consistent infrastructure investment, expanding employment opportunities and relatively balanced housing prices continue to support long-term residential demand. Ongoing improvements in transport connectivity, commercial districts and social infrastructure have also strengthened Hyderabad’s appeal among both end-users and investors.
Across the country, developers responded to sustained demand by increasing project launches after several quarters of limited supply. Higher inventory availability has helped improve market absorption while providing buyers with greater choice across different housing segments. The Hyderabad housing market also reflects a broader shift in India’s urban growth pattern, where expanding technology hubs and infrastructure-led development are creating stronger residential ecosystems. Analysts note that well-planned urban expansion can improve housing accessibility, encourage organised development and support more sustainable city growth when accompanied by adequate public services. While some northern markets experienced slower sales activity during the quarter, stronger performance across southern and western cities helped offset regional variations. Market observers believe this balanced demand demonstrates the resilience of India’s residential sector despite uncertainty in global markets.
Looking ahead, the pace of infrastructure delivery, regulatory stability and responsible urban planning will remain important factors shaping future housing demand. For Hyderabad, maintaining adequate infrastructure alongside rising residential construction will be essential to ensuring long-term liveability while supporting continued economic expansion.
