Hyderabad’s newly operational Bachupally flyover is delivering noticeable travel time savings for thousands of commuters, demonstrating how targeted transport infrastructure can improve mobility across rapidly expanding suburban corridors. However, ongoing road widening works and safety concerns at key access points indicate that the project’s full potential will depend on completing the surrounding transport network.
The 1.3-kilometre elevated corridor connects Bachupally with Miyapur and Gandimaisamma, serving one of north-west Hyderabad’s fastest-growing residential and commercial regions. Since opening earlier this month, the Bachupally flyover has significantly reduced delays at one of the city’s busiest intersections, with daily traffic estimated at more than 1.5 lakh vehicles.
