Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd has secured a contract valued at approximately ₹436 crore to supply high-tension and low-tension power cables for multiple data centre developments in Hyderabad. The order, awarded by engineering and infrastructure companies engaged in the projects, covers cable requirements for a combined 310 MW data centre campus, with deliveries scheduled in phases through the 2026–27 financial year. The Hyderabad data centre market has witnessed sustained growth as cloud computing, artificial intelligence applications and enterprise digital transformation continue to increase demand for secure computing infrastructure. Unlike conventional commercial developments, data centres require uninterrupted electricity supported by robust transmission and distribution networks capable of maintaining continuous operations. Industry analysts note that electrical infrastructure forms a significant portion of capital expenditure in hyperscale facilities. High-capacity cables, substations, transformers, switchgear and backup power systems are essential for ensuring operational resilience and reducing the risk of service interruptions. Hyderabad has steadily strengthened its position among India’s leading digital infrastructure destinations alongside Mumbai, Chennai and the National Capital Region.
