HYDERABAD: BIOAGRI 2026, the sixth annual BioAgri Industry Summit, will be held at Ramoji Film City on October 7 and 8, bringing together researchers, agri-input companies, startups, policymakers and regulators. Organised by the BioAgri Input Producers Association, the summit will examine how biological science and smart technologies can support more productive, efficient and sustainable agricultural systems.
Themed “Biological Intelligence & Smart Agriculture”, the event comes as agriculture faces growing pressure to increase output while managing environmental impacts. Biological inputs and technology-led farming are increasingly being explored as tools to address these challenges. The summit will examine developments across the biological agriculture ecosystem, including research, innovation, commercialisation and regulatory issues. Collaboration between scientific institutions and industry is also expected to form an important part of the discussions. Biological agriculture covers a broad range of technologies and products. These include biostimulants, biocontrol products, microbial solutions and other biological inputs that can support crop production and farm management.
The significance of these technologies lies partly in their potential to complement conventional agricultural practices. However, their wider adoption depends on scientific validation, consistent product quality, suitable regulation and farmers having access to practical information. Smart agriculture adds another layer to this transition. BIOAGRI 2026 will also feature the BIPA Startup Challenge. The initiative will give early-stage companies an opportunity to present technologies and business ideas focused on biological agriculture. Selected startups will pitch their solutions to a panel of industry leaders, investors and researchers.
The startup component highlights the growing role of entrepreneurship in agricultural innovation. New companies can contribute technologies and business models that address specific challenges faced by farmers, input producers and agricultural supply chains. The summit follows five earlier editions held between 2021 and 2025. Its continuation reflects the increasing interest in biological agriculture and the need for platforms where industry, research and regulatory stakeholders can exchange knowledge. BIPA represents more than 100 industry members and works across areas including innovation, regulatory development and industry collaboration. BIOAGRI 2026 is expected to provide a forum for examining both the opportunities and practical challenges associated with biological agricultural technologies. For Hyderabad, hosting an international-facing agriculture summit also reinforces the city’s role as a meeting point for technology, research and business. The discussions at BIOAGRI 2026 could help connect agricultural innovation with the wider push towards resource-efficient and climate-resilient food production.
