Karnataka rainfall was highest in Bengaluru over the past 24 hours, with Singanayakanahalli recording 99 mm, according to data released by the Karnataka State Disaster Management Centre. Gadag district’s Kanaginahal also recorded 99 mm, while several locations across Bengaluru, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi and other districts received more than 50 mm.
The rainfall data places Bengaluru among the state’s most heavily affected reporting locations during the period. Arakere in Bengaluru recorded 79.5 mm, while Narsipura in Nelamangala taluk of Bengaluru Rural district received 76 mm. Gantiganahalli recorded 56 mm and KR Puram received 53.25 mm.
The highest readings outside Bengaluru included 90.5 mm at Yalparthi in Belagavi district’s Raibag taluk, 86 mm at Paramanandawadi in the same district and 81.5 mm at Kadadi in Gadag taluk. Rangasamudra in Pavagada taluk of Tumakuru district recorded 80 mm, while Shivapura in Mandya taluk received 78.5 mm.
Rainfall was also reported across northern Karnataka. Kendur in Badami taluk of Bagalkot district recorded 72 mm. Basavakalyan taluk in Bidar district received 65.75 mm at Chikkanagांव, while Sumbada in Yadrami taluk of Kalaburagi district recorded 54.25 mm. Ballari city received 63.5 mm and Karajagi in Afzalpur taluk recorded 62.75 mm.
Other notable readings included 64.5 mm at Benakanahal in Kushtagi taluk of Koppal district, 61.5 mm in Badami and Indi, 60 mm at Gogerि in Ron taluk, and 59.25 mm at Viji Doddi in Magadi taluk of Bengaluru South district. Golageri in Sindagi received 58.25 mm and Mashal in Afzalpur recorded 58 mm.
The data also showed 57.5 mm at Ladlapur in Chittapur taluk, 56.5 mm at Balu Vanerala in Tiptur taluk and 56 mm each at Gantiganahalli in Bengaluru, Hulikutte in Doddaballapur taluk and Kotta in Sira taluk. Kunkनadu in Kadur taluk of Chikkamagaluru district recorded 54 mm, while Bengaluru’s KR Puram received 53.25 mm.
Further rainfall was reported at Bassapur in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district, which recorded 53 mm; Naganur in Surpur recorded 52.5 mm; Kandagal in Kudligi taluk of Vijayanagara district recorded 52 mm; and Hochihalli in Kadur taluk received 51 mm. The Karnataka State Disaster Management Centre’s rainfall readings provide the latest district-level snapshot of the spread and intensity of the showers.
