The disruption began at around 8pm on Saturday and continued until approximately 4am on Sunday, affecting thousands of residents across Pareen Lakshmi, Pareena Coban, Habitat 99A, Cosmos Express 99, Assotech Blith, Habitat Prime and Pareena Elite. According to a senior power department official, repair teams were sent to the affected location after the transmission fault was identified. Electricity was restored after repair work was completed in the early hours of Sunday. For residents, however, the immediate disruption was compounded by a broader concern: the outage was not an isolated inconvenience. Residents reported that shorter power cuts occur frequently in the area, often lasting one to two hours. The latest failure extended far beyond the backup capacity of many household inverters, leaving families without cooling, lighting and essential appliances during a humid summer night.
