Gurugram Green Crackers Allowed at 23 Sites Before November 9 Ban

Gurugram residents will be allowed to buy CSIR-NEERI-approved green crackers from 23 designated locations until November 6, but their use will be restricted to two daily time windows on November 7 and 8 before a complete ban returns on November 9, according to the district administration.

The temporary relaxation follows the Supreme Court’s reported easing of the blanket cracker restrictions in Delhi-NCR. Gurugram authorities have temporarily restored the licences of cracker traders so they can sell only green crackers approved by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute, or CSIR-NEERI.

District Commissioner Uttam Singh said the 23 sites had been selected for the sale of green crackers and that licensed traders could operate only until November 6. He said crackers could be burst only from 6 am to 7 am and from 8 pm to 10 pm on November 7 and 8. From November 9, the full ban on crackers will be enforced again across Gurugram.

The administration has also formed monitoring teams at district and block levels to oversee compliance. The arrangements place the enforcement burden not only on licensed sellers but also on local teams responsible for preventing sales outside the approved sites and stopping cracker use beyond the permitted hours.

The six locations within Gurugram include the ground near Vatika Chowk in Badshahpur, the open ground in Sector 9, the stadium in Babupur village, the HSVP ground in Sector 5, the Gaushala ground near Mahavir Chowk and Leisure Valley Ground in Sector 29. In Manesar, designated sites are located in front of the tehsil office in Sector 2 of IMT Manesar and near the power house in Garhi Harsaru.

In rural Gurugram, sales will be permitted at the community centres in Chandu and Baghanकी village. The Sohna area has three locations: panchayat land near the toll tax point in Sancholi village, panchayat land near Nimoth Road and panchayat land opposite the underpass in Ghamroj. The source identifies the locations as designated local-government sites for the temporary sale period.

Four sites have been listed for the rural areas of Pataudi and Farrukhnagar: the sports ground of the Government Senior Secondary School in Bhora Kalan, the sports ground in Hajipur, Mansaram Vatika in Taj Nagar and the gymnasium on Sultanpur Road in Kaliyawas. In the Sohna municipal council area, sales will be allowed at Devi Lal Stadium in Sohna.

The remaining locations are in the Pataudi-Mandi and Farrukhnagar areas. They include Ramleela Ground in Pataudi, the ground of MLA School opposite Peeli Dharamshala in Heli Mandi, the New Grain Market in Pataudi subject to Market Committee permission, and the site near the community centre on Jhajjar Road in Farrukhnagar.

The administration’s schedule separates the sale window from the use window: traders may sell approved green crackers until November 6, while residents may use them only during the specified hours on November 7 and 8. The district and block-level monitoring teams are expected to oversee implementation before the complete ban takes effect on November 9.
