Gujarat Weather Forecast Flags Rain and Temperature Drop

Gujarat weather conditions are expected to shift over the next few days, with light rain likely in parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra on October 29 and 30, while maximum temperatures may fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius after the next 24 hours, according to a forecast cited by Divya Bhaskar.

The weather department has issued a seven-day forecast for the state, indicating the possibility of light rain in some areas until November 3. The rain is expected to remain scattered and light, particularly across parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra.

Ahmedabad is likely to remain mainly clear. The city’s maximum temperature is expected to be around 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 22 degrees Celsius. The forecast indicates no major change in minimum temperatures across Gujarat over the next seven days.

Weather department director Dr A. K. Das said winds would blow from the northwest to north in parts of the state. In South Gujarat, winds are expected to move from the north to north-east at speeds of 15 to 20 knots.

The forecast links the possibility of rain in southern Gujarat to a cyclonic storm active over the west-central Bay of Bengal. The system is moving northwards, while moisture-laden winds are creating convergence towards South Gujarat, producing conditions favourable for light rain.

The report also said that the extremely severe cyclonic storm ‘Arnab’ over the Bay of Bengal was moving west-northwestwards and was expected to make landfall between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam on the Andhra Pradesh coast, with wind speeds of 125 to 135 kilometres per hour and gusts possibly reaching 150 kilometres per hour. The weather department’s next updates will determine how the system affects rainfall and wind conditions across Gujarat.
