Greater Noida electric buses have expanded to four new routes connecting residents with Noida Airport, Dankaur, Knowledge Park and Yamuna City, taking the total fleet operating in the area to 35. The new services began on October 14, according to the Greater Noida authority’s senior manager for urban services, Sunny Yadav.
The expansion increases the number of active electric bus routes in Greater Noida from four to eight. The additional services are intended to improve public transport access between residential sectors, employment and education hubs, the upcoming airport area and settlements along the Yamuna Expressway corridor.
The first new route runs from Sector 37 in Noida to Dankaur town through Phase 2, Pari Chowk and Bilaspur. The second connects Botanical Garden with Noida Airport, passing through Advant Building, Pari Chowk and Gaur Yamuna City.
The third route operates between Advant Building and Knowledge Park 2, with stops or connectivity through Knowledge Park 1, Swarn Nagri, Jagat Farm and Pari Chowk. The fourth runs from Botanical Garden to Mirzapur Cut in Yamuna City via Advant Building and Pari Chowk.
The route expansion comes after the wider deployment of electric buses in the Noida region. A total of 100 electric buses were placed on the roads in June, of which 50 are operating in the Noida Authority area. Greater Noida and the Yamuna Authority areas were each allocated 25 buses. With the latest additions, the Greater Noida fleet has increased from 25 to 35 buses.
Yadav said bus deployment is being increased on routes where surveys indicate stronger passenger demand. Regular surveys are being conducted, and the authority plans to add more buses and routes in phases based on the findings. The stated objective is to connect more sectors and nearby towns to public transport.
The expansion also depends on charging infrastructure, a critical operational requirement for electric bus services. More than four charging stations have already been established at different locations in Greater Noida, and additional stations are being added to support timely charging and uninterrupted operations.
The new routes place Pari Chowk at the centre of the expanded network, linking it with Noida, Dankaur, Knowledge Park, Yamuna City and the airport corridor. For passengers, the immediate change is the creation of direct or more accessible public transport connections across areas that are developing at different speeds and have historically depended heavily on private vehicles, shared transport and limited bus services.
The authority’s next steps are to monitor passenger demand through regular surveys, adjust bus deployment and introduce further routes in phases. The expansion of charging stations will continue alongside the growth of the electric bus network.
