Police in Ghaziabad have arrested five people after allegedly busting a network manufacturing and selling counterfeit dietary supplements, muscle gainers and steroid injections using labels bearing the names and addresses of well-known Indian and foreign companies. Products and manufacturing material valued at about ₹50 lakh were seized during raids in Shalimar Garden and Vijay Nagar.
The operation was carried out by Shalimar Garden police along with the Trans Hindon zone’s SWAT and surveillance teams, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police, City-Trans Hindon, Dhawal Jaiswal. Acting on information from an informer, the teams raided a warehouse in the Shalimar Garden area, where counterfeit products intended for gym users were allegedly being prepared and packed.
Police arrested Dilip Pandey, a resident of Purani Seemapuri in Delhi, and Veerbhan alias Ravi at the warehouse. Investigators said the packaged products were supplied to shops in Vijay Nagar. Separate raids at two shops in Vijay Nagar led to the arrests of Rohit Wakshi, Hanni Kulshrestha and Aryan, all residents of the area.
According to the police, Veerbhan alias Ravi was the alleged gang leader. During questioning, Dilip and Veerbhan reportedly told investigators that two Delhi residents, Mohit and Adil, supplied raw material from Punjab. The material was brought to the Shalimar Garden warehouse, packed there and then sold to Lalit Sharma, Hanni, Rohit and Aryan for retail distribution in Vijay Nagar.
Police said the accused operated shops under the names Nutrition World and Nutrition Adda. The investigation found that Lalit Sharma owned the Vijay Nagar warehouse and handled purchases and sales. Hanni allegedly managed operations and received a share of the profits, while Rohit, described as Lalit’s nephew and business partner, was associated with the trade. Aryan allegedly worked as an accountant.
The seized material included raw ingredients for drug and food products, printed labels, cartons, bottles and hundreds of boxes of supplements and gainers. Police listed products sold under names including Myodrol, Bulkzilla, GHRP-6, Daily Multivitamin, Diet Supplement Red, Musclemass Gainer, Angry Bulk, Bigger Biceps, Size Up, MK-677, IGF-1 and HGH X-2.
The seizure also included steroid injections and related products identified by police as Test E 250, Tren A100, Primo 100, Trenbolone 200, Bold EQ 300, Winstrol 100, Test P100, Sustanon 300, Rippex 225, Deca 300 and Masteron 100. Police said the accused used labels carrying the names and addresses of established companies to market the products as genuine.
Investigators are now examining how long the alleged operation had been running, tracing the supply network and checking the seized products. Police are also looking for the alleged suppliers Mohit and Adil and investigating the role of other people linked to the business.
