New Delhi, May 30: In a tragic incident, two individuals lost their lives when a tree collapsed on them while they were riding a scooty in the Alipur area of Delhi during a storm.
The victims, identified as Pushpendra Rawat (23) and his friend Vijay (24), were returning home after bathing at a tubewell in a field when the incident occurred near Hiranki Yamuna Pusta. The eucalyptus tree fell on the scooty during the storm, leaving Rawat and Vijay critically injured. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Burari, doctors declared them dead upon arrival.
Following post-mortem examinations, the bodies were handed over to the families of the deceased. The forest department was alerted about the incident, and they promptly removed the fallen tree from the road. This tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers posed by natural calamities, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures to ensure public safety during adverse weather conditions.
