In a major consolidation within India’s electric mobility sector, Evera Cabs has taken over 500 electric vehicles formerly operated by BluSmart, significantly expanding its presence in the Delhi-NCR region.
The move comes after BluSmart suspended operations across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai amid regulatory action. Evera Cabs, operated by Prakriti Mobility, has already repossessed 220 of the 500 cabs through its lenders and plans to recover the remaining vehicles soon. The acquisition also includes a large number of BluSmart drivers—10 per cent of whom are women—many of whom are transitioning to Evera’s platform. Around 150 drivers have already started operating trips under Evera.
The company said the move reinforces its strategy to dominate the airport mobility segment. It previously operated from Terminal 3 of the Delhi airport but will now expand services to all terminals, backed by the newly integrated fleet. “What we’re executing is not just a scale-up, it is a realignment of the electric mobility narrative in India,” said Evera Co-Founder and CEO Nimish Trivedi. “We are stepping forward with clear intent, absorbing proven EV assets and trusted drivers to ensure uninterrupted service.” The development follows the recent ban imposed by capital market regulator Sebi on BluSmart’s co-founders Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, also promoters of Gensol Engineering, for alleged governance lapses and fund diversion.
Evera said this fleet absorption is part of a broader, multi-stage plan to strengthen its market share in the EV ride-hailing sector, particularly in high-demand zones like Delhi airport.
