Delhi-NCR residents are in for a dynamic weather spectacle as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a series of atmospheric fluctuations over the forthcoming week.
Following a weekend marked by mild showers, a reprieve from scorching temperatures, the region braces for a blend of climatic conditions. According to the latest IMD bulletin, Monday is expected to witness stable maximum temperatures hovering around 33 degrees Celsius, coupled with cloudy skies and sporadic drizzles. However, the IMD cautions with a yellow alert due to anticipated rain and thundershowers.
The capital’s meteorological narrative reveals a notable drop in temperature, with Sunday’s maximum recorded at 32.2 degrees Celsius, a noticeable departure from the preceding day’s blistering 39.3 degrees Celsius. Various areas in Delhi, such as Safdarjung, Lodhi Garden, Ridge, and Ayanagar, received marginal rainfall, offering temporary respite from the prevailing climatic discomfort. Looking ahead, Tuesday through Thursday portends partly cloudy skies, accompanied by gusty winds, while Friday and Saturday may witness a resurgence of light rain and thunderstorms. Despite the precipitation, temperatures are anticipated to ascend, with Friday’s maximum projected to reach 38 degrees Celsius.
The weather phenomenon stems from a western disturbance impacting northwest India, as per IMD analysis. Additionally, the Air Quality Index (AQI) registered a moderate reading of 140 on Sunday, an improvement from the previous day’s assessment of 196. In summary, Delhi-NCR dwellers should prepare for a medley of weather patterns, encompassing intermittent rain, overcast skies, and temperature fluctuations, offering intermittent relief from the prevailing heatwave.
