Delhi vehicle owners with pending traffic challans will be able to seek settlement, reduction or disposal of eligible cases at a National Lok Adalat on October 25, with online tokens becoming available from 10 am on October 19. The proceedings will be held across all seven district court complexes in the capital.
According to information shared by the Delhi Traffic Police through a poster on X, the Lok Adalat will hear pending challans issued to all categories of vehicles. The listed court complexes are Patiala House, Karkardooma, Rouse Avenue, Saket, Tis Hazari, Rohini and Dwarka.
Vehicle owners must obtain a token through the Lok Adalat portal before approaching the court. The traffic police said that challans would not be taken up without a token. Once a token number is issued, the relevant challan will be placed before the court for consideration.
The portal is scheduled to become active at 10 am on October 19, 2026. The disposal process at the court complexes will run from 10 am to 4 pm on October 25. The authorities have advised applicants to obtain tokens early because only 50,000 challans will be taken up in a single day.
The process is intended to provide a formal legal route for resolving eligible pending traffic cases. However, the report does not state that every challan will automatically be waived. The outcome will depend on the court’s consideration of the case under the applicable Lok Adalat process.
The October session was earlier being prepared for September 12 but was postponed to October 25 because of the BRICS Summit, according to the report. The Lok Adalat will consider challans pending up to June 30, 2026.
Delhi’s periodic traffic Lok Adalats function as a high-volume settlement mechanism for cases that remain unresolved in the regular enforcement system. The stated daily limit of 50,000 challans also indicates the scale of the administrative exercise and makes the token process a critical access point for applicants.
A previous Lok Adalat was held in Delhi on June 30, 2026. For the October hearing, vehicle owners will need to complete the online token process on October 19 and attend the designated court complex during the October 25 operating hours. The Delhi Traffic Police’s next stated milestone is the activation of the portal at 10 am on October 19.
